2017 TCM Classic Film Fesival: Day One Recap

The 2017 TCM Classic Film Festival, dedicated to recently deceased TCM host, Robert Osborne, is up and running. The TCM staff held a low-key morning meeting in the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel Library Bar with first time attendees with the ins and outs on having a successful festival experience. Moving right along Professor Richard Edwards of Ball State University, led an informal discussion of Macguffins, Red Herrings, ICY Blondes and more during the mid-morning Hitchcock Fans Meet-Up in Library Bar as well.

On the back end of lunch hour, a panel of TCM staff members and actress Diane Baker hosted a special program at the TCL Chinese Multiplex, Remembering Robert, as they shared personal stories about the popular, long-time TCM host and film historian.

The afternoon continued with Backlot trivia, and team quiz competition, hosted by Bruce GoldStein, repertory program director of New York’s Film Forum.
